“Near the forfront of the next generation of parenting tools...Red Tricycle is not your mother's parenting aide. Readers are razr-phone-toting, book-club-joining moms who at least know what a blackberry is."

Put Your Best Face Forward

After Michelle Enebo had her first child and was pregnant with her second, she decided she was somewhat "underwhelmed" with the local studio photos she'd had done of her child. She knew what she wanted them to look like, but
none of them ever seemed to measure up. So, doing what many successful mama-preneuers have done, she took matters into her own hands. She bought camera equipment and started snapping away. Taking pictures of her kids soon turned into taking pictures of friends and then word spread like wildfire and she was soon shooting pics of many local families who heard of her through friends and PEPS groups. Her word-of-mouth business has continued to grow and thrive since 2000.

Michelle (now a mom of 3 girls) shoots on black & white C41 film and likes to keep things simple. She charges by the roll (no sitting fee), gives the clients all the prints & negatives to keep, shoots at her in-home studio in Issaquah, and uses a plain black backdrop with minimal props. Her main focus, when shooting photos of babies & children, is on their faces. She tends to prefer close-ups as she loves to capture the sparkle in their eyes, dimples in their cheeks, or a priceless expression. Her photo shoots are usually 45 minutes or less as, being a mom, she knows that kids tend to melt down if they are forced to do anything for too long. Besides, she says, "The best shots usually occur within the first 20 minutes". Her favorite photos come from the shoots when the parents are relaxed and horsing around with their kids, singing songs, reading stories, giggling and just being themselves!
