Let's Get Physical
News Flash: Summer's
arrived. If you haven't got the bikini, tankini or baggy-t-shirt-and-board-shorts
bod you crave, it's not too late. WeÕve found a few new workout options
around town for you alone or you with Baby. Also, a new program to start
Little One on the path to healthy living.
Stroller Strides
Perhaps you've seen them at Green Lake: women using their strollers as exercise
tools, babies in tow and big smiles on their faces, and wondered what they're
doing. It's a sixty-minute, total-body workout of power walking and toning
for endurance, strength, and flexibility called Stroller
Strides. This Thursday, July 10, Stroller Strides comes to West Seattle
with a free class, raffles, refreshments, and giveaways. Meet at Alki Beach
Bathouse (1702 Alki Ave SW) at 10:15 to sign in. Regular West Seattle classes
will meet Tues. and Thurs. at 10:30 a.m.

First class free. Unlimited monthly membership, $49. Other membership packages
available.
Adventure Boot Camp
For serious results and women-only outdoor workouts, look to Adventure Boot
Camp, with several locations in Seattle and on the Eastside. In three-to-five
days per week camps, you'll lose inches and pounds, not to mention what
you'll gain: confidence, strength, and a free t-shirt. New sessions begin
mid-July and mid-August; these camps sell out, so act fast.

Prices vary according to session frequency; details online.
Seattle Weight Loss Boot Camp
If you find the idea of boot camp (or squeezing into spandex) intimidating,
this is the class for you. You'll find comrades of all sizes and fitness
levels who attend the four-day-a-week workout. Programs run for four weeks.
Next session begins July 28. Bonus: Tips on nutrition and a "drop-in"
option after you finish the program.

Blossoming Yogis
Baby can benefit from exercise, too. Consider a yoga class at Blossoming
Yogis, with options for infants and crawlers. Parent/Baby yoga deepens the
family bond, improves body-awareness, nurtures self-esteem, and starts Baby
on the path to a healthy lifestyle. The next six-week sessions start tomorrow,
July 9; don't delay!
