Get Out and Play

Festival season is in full swing. This weekend brings Tivoli/Viking Days, the Wallingford Kiddie Parade and Street Fair, the Chinatown/International District Festival, Mercer Island's Summer Celebration, and Redmond Derby Days. When you're not reveling, check out a family film, celebrate a beloved children's book with a tea party, or take in a safari-themed concert. Speaking of concerts, mark your calendar: the Redmond Town Center Summer Concert Series kicks off tonight at 7 p.m. and happens same time, same place, every Thursday through August. When you're ready for a break from being entertained this weekend, stop by Archie McPhee (2428 NW Market St., Ballard) as the novelty shop celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary with free lemonade, snacks, and a street-side bargain bonanza (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.).
